BRYANT POND – Charles Raymond Howe handed away on March 11, 2021, on the age of 98. “Charlie” was born at dwelling on the “Farm” in Bryant Pond on Feb. 17, 1923.
He was predeceased by his mom Eva Buck Meserve, father Harry W. Howe; sisters Evelyn Merrill, Inez Howe, and brother Richard Howe; his spouse, Lois of 73 years; and his sons, Paul and Dave Howe.
He’s survived by his daughter Janis Howe and her associate Sandra Marino, and his youngest son Scot Howe; granddaughters, Siri Gott and husband Kevin; great- granddaughter Samantha and nice grandson Ian. Sonja Priola and great- granddaughters Payson, Madeline, and Fiona.
Charlie attended Woodstock Excessive College. He was a pitcher for the Bryant Pond city baseball staff. He served in the US Military within the South Pacific throughout World Struggle II from January 1943-1946. Upon which he acquired the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Marketing campaign Ribbon, Victory Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with a Bronze Service Star. He was honorably discharged as a corporal T-5.
After coming back from the battle, he married Lois McInnis in Augusta, Could 3, 1947. He was employed at Mann’s Mill for 11 yrs., then at Oxford Paper Co. in Rumford for 30 years. Upon retirement he had a pleasant dwelling in-built Bryant Pond the place he loved his mannequin trains, bowling, gardening and being a superb neighbor. All the time lower, hauled, cut up and stacked his personal wooden. He attended Bryant Pond Universalist Church serving as co-advisor to youth group. He loved the outside, looking, fishing, canoeing, tenting, most of all having his household round him for tales and laughter.
He can be remembered by his meekness and sharp humor, in addition to his hankies and gardening ideas. He was usually seen shirtless and shoeless, and taking Lois for a experience on his golf cart. His objective was to go away you smiling. “LUFF-YA”.
Particular due to Beacon Hospice Employees for the humorousness and real concern for him. His final request was to stay in his dwelling which was granted by his daughter.
