JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL)- A bunch met for the primary time Thursday, to start out on a mission that may profit the homeless in our area.
Heidi Perry is a water aerobics teacher at Memorial Park Neighborhood Heart in Johnson Metropolis. She mentioned via that class, they got here up with the concept to crochet sleeping mats for the homeless.
These concerned with getting this mission off the bottom have been gathering plastic grocery luggage they may reduce up into sections after which crochet.
Perry mentioned it takes about 50 hours to make one of many mats. They’re hoping to make no less than 20.
The mats are made from what they name PLARN (plastic yarn).
